Pacyon Foundation
Pacyon Foundation is established with the goal of serving the society and making a contribution towards making this world a better place to live in. Pacyon Foundation is dedicated to empowering marginalized communities through education, skill development, and arts-based interventions. We believe that art is a catalyst for change, especially when it gives voice to those historically underrepresented.
Our programs span across education, livelihood generation, leadership building, and cultural preservation, working at the intersection of art, empowerment, and opportunity. Through targeted initiatives, Pacyon Foundation envisions building an equitable society where every individual, irrespective of background, has the means to dream, create, and thrive.
As part of its “Stage for All” Initiative Pacyon brings a one of a kind live production oriented theatre workshop PTP3.
PTP3 is a comprehensive theatre program that provides Weekend participation to individuals to the age group of 18-30 Years. This 3-month module provides a comprehensive and production-oriented approach to theatre acting, with a focus on building foundational skills, developing characters, and preparing for a live performance.
By the end of the workshop, students will have gained valuable experience and skills, and will have had the opportunity to showcase their talents in a live production.
Duration
The duration of the Workshop is 3 Months, Weekends only.
Objectives
The Objective of this workshop is to give formal live theatre training to deserving students who have the natural talent but not the wherewithal of being able to afford high class theatre training.

Week 1-2: Acting Fundamentals
-Introduction to acting techniques, scene study, and character development - Improvisation, physical theatre, and vocal warm-ups - Script analysis and emotional recall - Focus: Building foundational skills and understanding of acting techniques
Week 3-4: Character Development and Scene Study
- Advanced character development, backstory, and motivation - Scene study, partnering, and chemistry - Rehearsal techniques, run-throughs, and feedback - Focus: Deepening understanding of character development and scene work
Week 5-6: Production Preparation
- Tech rehearsals, lighting and sound design - Costume and makeup design, - Final rehearsals, dress rehearsals - Focus: Preparing for the final production
Week 7-8: Final Production
- preparation of the final production - Feedback and evaluation - Focus: Applying all skills and techniques in a live performance
Week 9-12 (Final 4 weekends)
- Additional rehearsals and performances as needed - Guest lectures from industry professionals - Opportunities for students to receive feedback and guidance
Production-Oriented Focus and Assessment
- Students will work on a full-scale production, applying all the skills and techniques learned throughout the workshop. - Emphasis on collaboration, teamwork, and communication skills. - Opportunities for students to showcase their talents in a live performance. Assessment: - Participation and attendance - Performance in scenes, exercises, and final production - Feedback from instructors and peers
About The Director
Vipin Kumar, a native of Amritsar, embarked on his theatrical journey in his hometown. His initial training under Rajinder Singh paved his way to the prestigious National School of Drama (NSD). There, he honed his craft under the tutelage of Neeta Mahendra and M. K. Raina, collaborating on nationwide theatre productions. Following his graduation from NSD in 2015, Vipin served with the NSD repertory until 2017. Subsequently, he embraced a freelance career, showcasing his versatility as an actor, director, teacher, and writer. He gained recognition in Indian theatre through his notable plays, including ‘Hatya Ek Aakar ki’, ‘Bali’, the solo performance ‘Atal Yatra’ (on the life of Atal Bihari Vajpayee), ‘Nirjan Karawas’, ‘Ek or Dronacharya’, and ‘Ramanujun’. Over his 20-year career, Vipin has embraced multiple roles, functioning as an actor, director, trainer, writer, and theatre critic, and has shared his expertise by teaching in various theatre institutions and school drama departments. His contributions have been acknowledged with several accolades, including the Bharat Ratna Atal Sewa Samman 2019, the Indian Theatre Excellence Award 2022, the Disciplined Service Towards Indian Theatre award 2021, a special honor from Dastak Theatre, Amritsar, the Raja Kaul Rangkarmi Award 2023, and recently, the esteemed Sangeet Natak Akademi Ustad Bismillah Khan Award 2023 for Acting. In his prolific career, Vipin has been part of 70 plays, amassing over 800 shows. He has had the privilege of working with luminaries of Indian theatre such as Mohan Maharishi, M.K. Raina, Bhanu Bharti, and international directors like Ovlia Kuli kodja Kuli and David Zinder.
